An Arab star is close to joining Mourinho in Fenerbahce

Turkish media reported that Fenerbahce is close to signing Ayoub El Kaabi in the current summer transfer period.

The Olympiacos striker had many offers after his distinguished season in Greece, most notably from Saudi League clubs, and his club also tried to keep him and renew his contract.

But according to journalist Santi Ona, an agreement has been reached between El Kaabi and Fenerbahce for the Moroccan international to join Jose Mourinho’s squad.

The deal is supposed to be officially completed within the next few hours after agreeing with the player, whose contract with Olympiacos has already expired at the end of the past season.

Joining Fenerbahce will be El Kaabi’s second experience in Turkey, after previously playing for Hatayspor, where he scored 26 goals in 55 matches.

It is worth noting that the 31-year-old El Kaabi scored 33 goals last season with Olympiacos and led them to win the European Conference League title for the first time in their history.
