The “Relevo” network reported that Barcelona’s management has contacted current Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta to take over the team’s training next season.
Last month, Arteta denied any contact between him and Barcelona, and indicated that he would fulfill his full contract with Arsenal until the summer of 2025.
But recently, a call occurred between the Catalan club’s management and those close to Arteta to ask about the possibility of succeeding Xavi Hernandez.
The communications did not stop there, but also reached direct communication from the Catalan administration with the Spanish coach himself.
Arteta’s response to the possibility of leaving Arsenal and coaching Barcelona remains unknown until now, but it remains an existing option and specifically a goal for President Joan Laporta.
It is noteworthy that Hansi Flick and current Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbe are the most likely to succeed Xavi as coach of Barcelona so far.
