Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, revealed that only one situation would push him to retire from coaching.
The Italian coach conducted a long interview with L’Equipe newspaper, during which he talked about his career, his ambitions for the coming period, and when he will retire.
Regarding retirement, Ancelotti said, “I think I will retire if Real Madrid fires me, my family does not want me to stop and my wife wants me to continue.”
He also added, “I think my retirement day will be great, I want to do many things and see things I have never experienced before, I want to travel to Argentina, the Maldives and Australia, I can confirm that my retirement day will never be sad for me.”
Regarding his current ambition with Real Madrid, he said, “I want to win the Champions League again before leaving Real Madrid, this club is very special to me, and it is the best club in the world.”
Ancelotti considered winning the 2003 Champions League with Milan, and the 2014 and 2022 Champions League titles with Real Madrid, to be the most valuable achievements in his coaching career.
He spoke specifically about the 2022 title, saying, “At that time, everyone thought my career was over after working with Napoli and Everton, so it was good to come back like this.”
It is noteworthy that Ancelotti refused to consider himself the best coach in the world in recent years, and considered that others such as Pep Guardiola, Sir Alex Ferguson and Lobanovsky achieved more than he did.
