Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti revealed that Ferland Mendy has just renewed his contract with the royal club for two additional years.
Spanish media had previously reported that Real were close to reaching an agreement with Mendy regarding the renewal based on Ancelotti’s urgent desire.
In the press conference for the Alaves match scheduled for Tuesday, Ancelotti announced the success of the negotiations and the renewal of contracts with Mendy.
The Italian coach said, “Yes, all contracts have been signed.”
He concluded, “We are very happy with what Mendy is offering and happy that he will stay with us for a long time.”
Mendy’s previous contract was due to expire in the summer of 2025, and it was said at the time that Real might let him leave for free and then sign Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich.
According to the “Relevo” network, Real Madrid’s plan now is to sign Davies even in the presence of Mendy, to secure the left-back position with the Frenchman with the tremendous defensive strength and the Canadian with the exceptional offensive strength.
