Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has addressed the question on everyone’s lips: where will Kylian Mbappé play for the Spanish giants?
With Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, and Brahim Díaz all capable of playing on the left wing, Mbappé’s preferred position, many have wondered how Ancelotti will fit the Frenchman into his starting XI.
Mbappé himself has previously expressed a preference for not playing as a central striker, leading to speculation about Ancelotti’s tactical dilemma next season.
Speaking on the Obi Wan podcast, Ancelotti was asked about Mbappé’s role and replied, “I see him playing up front. The attack is wide, the pitch is 68 meters long, and our attackers have to cover that space.”
He added, “Mbappé can play on the left, sometimes in the center, sometimes on the right. Bellingham played on the left, then moved to the center and the right. Rodrygo started on the right and sometimes we find him on the left.”
Ancelotti concluded, “If you look at last season, Vinicius didn’t play as a left winger, he moved inside a lot. The key to Mbappé’s success is his tactical understanding with the front line and the dynamic style we always play.”
