Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Andriy Lunin will remain at the club this season.
The Ukrainian goalkeeper’s contract with Real Madrid expires in the summer of 2025, and he has been linked with several top clubs this transfer window.
Lunin wants to be a regular starter, but the door to that is closed at Real Madrid following the return of Thibaut Courtois from injury.
However, after the 3-0 win over Valladolid in the second round of La Liga, Ancelotti clearly stated that Lunin will not be leaving the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Italian coach continued, “Lunin will not leave Real Madrid and will remain with us next season.”
Ancelotti’s words could signal that Real Madrid will try to renew the goalkeeper’s contract instead of letting him leave for free next summer, and indeed, the offer that the club has made since last July is still on the table.
