Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti denied the media reports that David Alaba will not participate in the royal club’s matches before March.
The Austrian star returned to training with Real Madrid players this week after more than a year of absence due to a torn knee ligament in December 2023.
Real Madrid is preparing to open its matches in 2025, when it visits Valencia at Mestalla Stadium in the postponed match of the 12th round of the Spanish League.
Ancelotti was asked about the date of Alaba’s return to participate in matches during the match’s press conference, to which he replied, “Alaba is very close to participating in matches again.”
He also added, “I expect him to be ready to participate starting from January 20.”
If Ancelotti’s expectations are correct, Alaba’s first match is expected to be on January 22 against Salzburg in the Champions League, which will be held at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
