La Liga President Javier Tebas announced that the 2024-2025 Spanish League competition will start in the second half of next August.
As revealed by Tebas, the tentative date for the opening match of La Liga is Friday, August 16.
Tebas added in a press interview that the schedule of La Liga matches for the new season will be fully revealed within 10 days from now.
If the date set by Tebas is confirmed, Real Madrid will most likely not play the opening match, given its connection to the European Super Cup match on August 14 against Atalanta.
Thus, it is most likely that Kylian Mbappe’s first match in La Liga will be on Sunday, August 18, or it may be postponed to take place on Monday, August 19.
Real Madrid won the La Liga title last season for the thirty-sixth time in its history, while Barcelona finished in second place.
