Ilkay Gundogan’s statements about what Ronald Araujo did in the Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain match caused a major crisis inside the Catalan club’s locker room.
The German international denounced Araujo’s intervention on Bradley Barcola, which resulted in him receiving a red card, after which Jules Kounde left and did not agree with what he said.
The flames of discord at Camp Nou flared up when Araujo responded for the first time to Gundogan’s statements with a picture confirming that the relationship between the two had reached a dead end.
“I prefer not to say what I think, I have certain values that others must also respect,” the Uruguayan international said.
He continued, “I do not feel that I am responsible for how the match goes. I was expelled because of a combined ball that I had a 50% chance of winning.”
It is noteworthy that this is not the first time that Gundogan’s statements against his teammates have caused a crisis within Barcelona, as the same thing happened after he criticized what the players presented against Real Madrid in the first leg of the Clasico.
