Arsenal are the first team to qualify practically for the quarter-finals of the Champions League 2025

Arsenal put a foot and a half in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, following the big victory they achieved against Eindhoven at the Philips Stadium in the first leg of the round of 16.

It is true that the Gunners have suffered a lot due to injuries, and their results and offensive productivity have declined in the Premier League, but this was never the case in the Eindhoven match.

Mikel Arteta’s squad succeeded in achieving a big victory with a score of 7-1, and thus it became almost certain that the Gunners will reach the quarter-finals.

Arsenal took a 3-goal lead in the first 30 minutes through Jurain Timber, Ethan Nwaneri and Mikel Moreno, then Noah Lang scored the only goal for Peter Bosz’s squad in the 42nd minute from a penalty kick.

In the second half, Martin Odegaard and Leandro Trossard scored twice in the first two minutes, then the Norwegian scored the sixth in the 73rd minute, and Ricardo Calavero scored the seventh in the 85th minute.

Eindhoven need to win 6-0 in the second leg next week to play extra time, or win by a margin of seven goals to reach the quarter-finals, which is certainly close to impossible.

With Arsenal imminently qualified for the quarter-finals, they will await the winner of the Madrid derby between Real and Atletico in what will be a highly anticipated summit.
