The Barcelona administration has excluded 5 names proposed to coach the team next season to succeed Xavi Hernandez, while it has drawn up a short and final list of only 3 names to choose one of them to coach the Catalan club.
According to what was reported by the newspaper “Sport”, the names excluded from Barcelona’s training are Thomas Tuchel and Julian Nagelsmann, as well as Mikel Arteta and Roberto De Zerbe, and finally Jurgen Klopp.
Barca’s management believes that Tuchel’s personality is difficult and hinders achieving success, while Nagelsmann does not have the experience necessary for such a step, while De Zerbe has not trained a large team to judge him.
On Arteta’s part, contracting with him is close to impossible due to his extended contract with Arsenal, and as is known, Klopp wants to rest for a year and will not change his decision, regardless of the proposed offers.
Inspired by the previous names, the Barcelona administration settled on 3 names to choose from, including Luis Enrique, Hansi Flick, and, surprisingly, Rafael Marquez, the reserve coach.
Joan Laporta’s first and preferred choice is Enrique, but the process of including him seems complicated due to his contract with Paris Saint-Germain extending until the summer of 2025.
Perhaps all indicators place Hansi Flick as the new coach of the Blaugrana, as the coach is fond of the idea of training at Camp Nou and has already begun to learn Spanish and ask questions about everything related to Barca in recent days.
The alternative plan, in the event that the contract with Enrique or Flick fails, will be to promote Marquez from the reserve team to the first team, as the administration is impressed by what he offers with the youth, and perhaps he will be the “new Guardiola.”
It is noteworthy that the Barcelona administration still hopes that Xavi Hernandez will stay for another year, and therefore will not announce the name of the new coach before the end of the current season.
