Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Barcelona has reached an agreement with its young star Marc Bernal to renew his contract for another 5 years.
Bernal shone at the beginning of this season with Barça, but unfortunately he suffered a cruciate ligament tear that will keep him off the field for 8 months.
The Blaugrana management decided to extend Bernal’s contract to support him in the severe injury that afflicted him and to confirm the extent of faith in his abilities.
According to Romano, the 17-year-old will sign a new contract for 2029 with Barcelona, with an increase in his salary and more bonuses each season.
Barcelona secured Bernal from the interest of any other club by including a penalty clause in his contract worth 500 million euros.
