A large number of Barcelona fans’ associations issued an official statement demanding that the president of the Catalan club, Joan Laporta, resign for his failure in the Dani Olmo crisis and many other matters.
So far, Barcelona has not been able to register Olmo and Pau Victor after La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation refused and considered that the last chance to do so was on December 31.
The statement of the Blaugrana fans’ associations stated, “In recent weeks, failures have increased significantly, such as: avoiding recognizing normal losses by not professionalizing the auditor’s opinion in last season’s accounts, a mysterious committee’s recognition of the Nike deal, and an attempt to sign a basketball player in a suspicious manner.”
He added, “There is always uncertainty in the future of the club, in addition to the negligence in registering Olmo and Pau Victor, although the club had 4 months to do so.”
The statement noted that Laporta’s administration was forced to sell 20-year commercial rights to foreign companies (premium seats at Camp Nou) despite previously promising not to do so, and the president refused to hold any dialogue with the fans, which negatively affected all parties.
After the previous explanation, Barcelona fans demanded 3 things: the resignation of Laporta’s administration, and if they refuse, they must at least respect the opinion of the members, but in the event of a response, a vote of no confidence will be resorted to.
It is noteworthy that Laporta is supposed to speak during his presence in Saudi Arabia with Barcelona’s mission for the Spanish Super Cup about the developments in the Olmo case in light of the torrent of criticism that has been directed at him over the past week.
