Mundo Deportivo newspaper revealed that Barcelona is in the process of obtaining the services of Paris Saint-Germain player loaned to Leipzig, Xavi Simons, even if Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s management rejects the matter.
Simons’ loan to Leipzig ends at the end of this season, and recently his name was put forward again to return to Camp Nou as he is one of the most important talents in the world currently.
According to the latest report, Simons does not want to return to Paris Saint-Germain, and prefers to go out on loan again, and his opinion has settled on moving to Barcelona.
Even if Paris wanted to keep the player, it could not do so because of the contract concluded between the two parties, which allows him to choose the club he wants to move to on loan for another season.
Simons would be an ideal option for Barcelona on a loan basis, as then Barcelona will not pay anything to include him, and all he has to do is pay his salary, which will not constitute a crisis with regard to the laws of fair financial play.
The Dutch player’s agents are supposed to meet with Nasser Al-Khelaifi in the coming days to inform him that the player’s next decision and destination will be Barcelona, and to agree with him on all the details.
Simons began his career in Barcelona before leaving in 2019 to Paris Saint-Germain, and this season the 21-year-old’s talent exploded after he scored 9 goals and assisted 15 others in all tournaments with Leipzig.
