Barcelona president Joan Laporta believes that Real Madrid’s signing of Kylian Mbappe would destroy the locker room, which is why he does not envy the Royal Club for including the current Paris Saint-Germain star.
Although recent reports indicate that Mbappe will receive a salary similar to what the highest paid at Real Madrid, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior, the bonuses, image rights, etc. will make the French star’s salary at the Santiago Bernabeu exceed 50 million euros annually.
From this standpoint, Laporta believes that jealousy will creep into the veins of Real Madrid’s stars, in addition to the sporting competition between the attacking line players and Mbappe, which will force Florentino Pérez’s management to sell players.
Laporta said in an interview with Mundo Deportivo, “I certainly do not envy Real Madrid for signing Mbappe. He will destroy the locker room.”
He also added, “I read about the details of Mbappe’s contract with Real Madrid. Certainly this would cause a lot of problems in the locker room. It would not be cheap, but would cause crises.”
He concluded, “Shouldn’t Real Madrid sell some players? They certainly won’t all play in the same position. They will have many problems in the coming period.”
