Barcelona president Joan Laporta did not miss the opportunity to mock Real Madrid for the number of penalties they have been awarded this season.
In 5 La Liga matches, Real Madrid have been awarded 4 penalties, the last 2 in the match against Real Sociedad on Saturday, one of which is highly questionable.
While attending a joint lunch with Girona ahead of the Catalan derby on Sunday, Laporta appeared before the press and took the opportunity to mock Real Madrid.
Laporta pretended to take a penalty, referring to Real, to mock on the one hand and to express his displeasure with the decisions of the Spanish referees on the other hand.
The Catalan president was then asked about Real Madrid’s second controversial penalty, to which he responded sarcastically by saying “That’s why I say take two penalties!”.
Barcelona lead La Liga by a single point after winning four matches before the international break, and face a tough task against Girona at the latter’s stadium in the fifth round.
