Barcelona had the opportunity to sign one of the current Real Madrid stars, but the club’s scout, Bojan Krkic Sr., stood in the way.
We are talking here about Aurelien Tchouameni, who rose to fame in the French league, which forced Real Madrid to buy him from Monaco for 80 million euros in 2022.
According to Krkic, the player was also on Barça’s radar, but as a scout for the Blaugrana, he saw that Tchouameni’s capabilities were not up to the level of wearing the Catalan club’s shirt.
Krkic said in this regard, “I watched Tchouameni two or three times in Monaco in order to write a report on the possibility of Barcelona signing him.”
He continued, “In my reports, I always wrote that he is a physically strong and fast player, but he completely lacks creativity.”
He concluded, “In fact, I do not like him at all as a player, I did not think at the time that he was suitable for any big club.”
Although this opinion would have been strange at one time, now the criticism against Tchouameni does not stop after the huge decline in his level, which prompted Real Madrid officials to actually think about selling him next summer.
The French player is currently suffering from an ankle injury, and when he returns from it he will not participate in his main position as a midfielder, but will be returned to the defense line to replace the injured Eder Militao.
