Barcelona confirmed that Dani Olmo will be out of action for a period ranging between 4 to 5 weeks due to injury.
Olmo was injured in the second half of the Girona match on Sunday and left the field in the 61st minute of the match that ended with Barcelona’s 4-1 victory.
According to Barcelona’s statement, Olmo is suffering from an injury to the biceps femoris muscle.
Given the expected duration (5 weeks), Olmo will initially miss the matches against Villarreal, Getafe, Osasuna, Alaves and Sevilla in the Spanish League.
The Spanish international will not be able to play in Barça’s first 3 matches in the Champions League, when Hansi Flick’s squad meets Monaco, Young Boys and Bayern Munich.
There are also doubts about Olmo’s participation in the Clasico scheduled for next October 27 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, unless he succeeds in recovering on time or a little earlier.
It is noteworthy that Olmo scored 3 goals in the 4 matches he played with Barcelona in La Liga, and is considered one of the most prominent players of the Blaugrana this season, which makes his absence a strong blow to the team.
