Barcelona CEO Enric Masip has revealed the identity of the club that tried to sign Lamine Yamal last year.
The president of the Blaugrana, Joan Laporta, had announced that his club had rejected an astronomical offer of 200 million euros from a giant club that wanted to sign Yamal.
According to Masip, this club is Paris Saint-Germain, who saw in the 17-year-old Yamal the ideal alternative to replace Kylian Mbappe.
Masip said in media statements, “We received an offer from France, Laporta confirmed it to me, but we did not discuss it at all and it was rejected immediately.”
French media outlets, quoting sources within PSG, had previously confirmed that what Barcelona officials were saying was baseless, and everything that was said about this legendary offer was untrue.
It remains to be noted that Masip, in his statements, considered that what Yamal is offering has not been done by any other player except Lionel Messi, and that he is also superior to Kylian Mbappe so far, despite his young age.
