Mundo Deportivo reported that Barcelona’s management is targeting two German stars in the 2025 summer transfer market.
We are talking here about Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah, who was already the focus of the Spanish club’s attention this summer, along with Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich.
Tah and Kimmich’s contracts with Leverkusen and Bayern expire in the summer of 2025, which will make them free transfers, which is perfectly in line with Barcelona’s difficult economic situation.
Indeed, Tah took the first step indicating that he may move to Barcelona, when he announced to the German media on Friday that he will not renew his contract with Leverkusen.
What increases Barça’s chances of getting Tah is that his agent, Pini Zahavi, is one of the closest people to Barcelona’s management.
But Barcelona will face fierce competition, especially from Bayern Munich, who came very close to signing Tah last summer, had it not been for the stubbornness of Bayer Leverkusen’s management regarding the value of the deal.
As for Kimmich, his fate also remains in Bayern’s hands, as the player previously announced that he wanted to continue and renew his contract, but so far the Bavarian club has not made him an offer and is waiting to see his performances this season to make a final decision on him.
Perhaps the only problem in signing Kimmich is that Barcelona will thus need Frenkie de Jong to leave, which is unlikely to happen due to the high-profile Dutch player who will keep him at Camp Nou until the summer of 2026.
