Barcelona defender Pau Coparsi has expressed his desire for the Catalan club to reach the Champions League final and set up a historic Clásico with Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena.
The Clásico could happen if both teams reach the final, and Coparsi believes it would be a fantastic match, and Barça fans should have no reason to be afraid.
The 18-year-old said, “I hope we meet Real Madrid in the Champions League final, because it will be a very good match.”
He added, “Facing Real Madrid in a Champions League final isn’t a bad idea. If we perform well, we’ll reach the final. If we qualify for the final, we’ll give it our all, regardless of the opponent.”
He concluded, “Why would Barcelona fans be afraid of facing Real Madrid? We are two of the best teams in the world, and the rivalry is always between us. You can never predict the outcome of matches. I think it will be a fantastic match worth watching.”
Barcelona has met Real Madrid twice this season, with Coparci’s participation, once in La Liga, winning 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu, and once in Jeddah in the Spanish Super Cup final, winning 5-3.
