Journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Saudi league officials have contacted Barcelona star Raphinha to explore the possibility of a transfer to the Roshan League before the end of the current transfer window.
Saudi interest in signing Raphinha is not new, as rumors have been circulating since last January about Al-Hilal’s willingness to pay a huge sum to sign the Brazilian international.
According to all Catalan media, Barcelona would welcome selling Raphinha if it brought in a lot of money, as it could then be a solution to all of the club’s economic problems.
According to Romano, a new contact between Saudi officials and Raphinha’s camp took place this week to find out if the player would be willing to move to the Saudi league in August.
Once again, Raphinha’s response was clear that he does not intend to leave Barcelona this season despite the fierce competition he faces for a starting place in Xavi’s squad.
This is not the first time that Raphinha has refused to move to Saudi Arabia; it is said that a large offer reached him last month, but his response was also similar, stating that he only thinks about staying with Barcelona.
Overall, Raphinha is the second Barcelona player to reject a move to the Saudi league, after Vitor Roque, who received a large offer from Al-Hilal but rejected it because he wanted to either stay with Barca or move to another European club.
