Barcelona star Pau Cubarsi believes his teammate Raphinha is the right candidate to win the 2025 Ballon d’Or, given his impressive performances with the Blaugrana this season.
Cubarsi told reporters, “Rafinha is definitely the current favorite for the Ballon d’Or. He’s performing exceptionally well with Barcelona.”
When Rafinha was compared to Lamine Yamal, the 18-year-old defender responded, “Yamal is also having an excellent season, but if you asked him, he’d choose Rafinha too.”
The latest poll conducted by L’Equipe regarding who should win the Ballon d’Or favored Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembélé.
Egyptian star Mohamed Salah also maintains his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or after his phenomenal performances with Liverpool this season, but after the Reds’ elimination from the Champions League, his stock has declined somewhat.
It’s worth noting that Raphinha has contributed to 48 goals for Barcelona this season in all competitions, scoring only one from a penalty kick, which gives him a relative advantage over Salah, who has scored several penalties in his 56 goal contributions.
