Journalist Fabrizio Romano announced that Barcelona is on the verge of renewing the contracts of duo Sergi Roberto and Pau Cobarci within the next few hours.
According to the Italian, Roberto will extend his contract for another year while continuing to receive the same wage, based on the recommendation of coach Xavi Hernandez.
Although the Catalan leader received an offer in recent days from Girona, after Xavi stayed, he chose to continue with Barca, even if for one year, with a modest salary.
As for 17-year-old Kuparsi, his contract will be long-term, with a fantastic penalty clause to prevent any attempts by major European clubs to obtain his signature.
Negotiations between Deco and the Koparsi camp began in recent weeks, and the two sides have already reached an agreement that should be announced to the fans within a few hours.
Kuparsi’s contract will include a €1 billion release clause, just like with Lamine Yamal, to secure the gem of a centre-back.
