Barcelona has joined the list of clubs interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Egyptian international’s contract with his German club still extends until the summer of 2027, but it is expected that he will be allowed to leave next summer for a large sum of money.
Barcelona is looking for a successor to Lewandowski
According to the newspaper “Sport”, Barcelona has begun looking for a successor to Robert Lewandowski in the Catalan club’s attack, hoping to conclude the deal next summer.
The option of signing Erling Haaland from Manchester City remains the biggest dream for Barca, but such a deal is not expected to happen next summer, and the attempt may take place in the summer of 2026 for many economic and sporting reasons between the two parties.
At the present moment, Barcelona’s management has two options to compensate for the 37-year-old Lewa, the first is the brilliant striker with Sporting Lisbon Viktor Gyökeres, and the other is the Egyptian star Omar Marmoush.
Reasons why Barcelona are considering signing Marmoush
There are a number of reasons that Sport has refuted for Barcelona’s management to consider signing Marmoush, which makes this deal likely to happen.
The first reason is technical, as the 25-year-old is able to play in all attacking positions with high quality, and therefore he can be a solution for the striker position and also for the deficit in the left wing position.
The second reason is that Marmoush is an amazing master of executing free kicks, and the last 3 goals he scored with Frankfurt were in this way, while it is clear that the current Barça roster does not have a specialist with even half this efficiency.
As for the third reason, it is economic, as Frankfurt will not exaggerate in its financial demands, and Sky previously revealed that the German club agreed to sell the Egyptian star for an amount ranging between 40 and 60 million euros at most.
It is expected that Gyökeres will be very expensive for Barcelona’s coffers, as the penalty clause in his contract reaches 70 million euros, while the Marmoush deal is within the reach of the Catalans.
Perhaps one of the reasons that also facilitates Marmoush’s move to Barcelona is the company that handles the player’s business agency, which is famous for its close relationship with Joan Laporta’s administration in recent years.

Clubs wishing to sign Marmoush next summer
It is noteworthy that Barcelona will face fierce competition from many European clubs next summer to sign Marmoush.
The player is already receiving great interest from Liverpool, and perhaps Mohamed Salah’s presence there and his legacy may be one of the reasons for his preference for the Reds.
In addition to Liverpool, Marmoush has entered the circle of interest of Bayern Munich and Manchester City, and it is assumed that the list will increase with other English clubs that have financial capabilities that greatly exceed Barcelona’s capabilities, which makes the deal not as easy as it may seem at first glance.
Marmoush’s numbers this season
Marmoush has so far scored 14 goals and made 10 others in all tournaments with Frankfurt this season, and he is the only player besides Salah who has scored and made more than 10 goals in the five major leagues.
Marmoush leads the Bundesliga scorers list, tied with Harry Kane, with 11 goals each, and the Egyptian became the first player in Frankfurt’s history to score and assist this number of goals.
