Bayern Munich star Matthijs de Ligt finds himself in real trouble after being accused of hit-and-run.
According to the newspaper “Bild”, De Ligt hit a parked car near Bayern Munich’s training ground and then fled the scene.
Unfortunately for the Dutchman, someone witnessed the incident and called the police, reporting without a doubt that the Dutch player was the one who hit the car.
The incident occurred last Wednesday at 10 am, and the police immediately went to De Ligt and seized his car for investigation.
“Bild” indicates that De Ligt now faces either a severe prison sentence of up to 3 years or a large fine.
The main reason for the crisis escalating is that the player fled after hitting the other car, making the possibility of a harsher sentence, reaching the point of imprisonment, likely.
These events come amid Bayern Munich’s desire to sell De Ligt, and the player has reached an agreement with Manchester United in recent days.
