Bayern Munich Successfully Concludes Its First Winter Deal

Bayern Munich has concluded its first winter deal, after reaching an agreement with Cologne to sign young goalkeeper Jonas Oberg.

The German club is looking for a successor to Manuel Neuer, and a substitute for him this season in light of the veteran goalkeeper’s multiple injuries and the modest levels of his current substitute.

Oberg is considered one of the most prominent young goalkeepers in the world at the moment, and thanks to his exceptional levels, he has succeeded in reserving a basic position for himself in the goal of Cologne in the German second division.

According to the “Sky” network, Bayern will pay 7 million as a fixed value, in addition to 3 million others to sign Oberg and transfer him immediately to the Allianz Arena.

The 21-year-old will be Neuer’s first choice this season, and is also seen as a potential permanent successor to the 39-year-old after his expected retirement in the summer of 2026.

Bayern also have Alexander Nubel on loan at Stuttgart for two years, and the competition will be between him and Oberg for Neuer’s permanent successor in the Bavarian goal.

Bayern have not made any winter deals yet, but have signed Tom Bischoff for free next summer after his contract with Hoffenheim expires.
