The prevailing trend within Bayern Munich was to either renew Alphonso Davies’ contract or leave this summer, but the Bavarian club’s management decided to abandon this idea.
This is what was reported by the German network Sky Sports, which confirmed that Bayern’s management has decided to keep Davies next season even if no agreement has been reached with him to renew his contract, which expires in the summer of 2025.
The Bavarian administration is aware of the danger of Davies continuing without renewing his contract, as he could leave for free and without any financial gain next summer, but it is ready to bear this responsibility.
Throughout the entire next season, Bayern’s management will try to convince Davies to renew, in light of what is said to be that the current offer has not yet been accepted by the Canadian.
Bayern Munich offered 13 million euros annually as a salary to Davis, but the 23-year-old is still determined to earn 20 million euros annually, and this is the point of disagreement between the two parties now.
Perhaps the news of Davis’ continuation was shocking to Real Madrid in particular, as the Spanish club wanted to finalize the deal this summer and had already completed the agreement with the player.
But at the same time, Davies’ continuation may be beneficial, as Real Madrid can sign him for free without costing the club’s coffers much in the summer of 2025, and Ferland Mendy can stay until the end of his contract.
What is currently certain is that the series between Davis, Bayern and Real Madrid will continue for at least a year, unless the German club’s management retracts its decision or the player agrees to the offer currently before him.
