Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, former Manchester United coach, revealed that his team could have signed Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham previously, but the administration inexplicably rejected the matter.
According to Solskjaer, he asked United’s management to include Haaland in the summer of 2017 when he was at Molde – a year before he took over as coach of the team – but the club refused because there were other attacking options on his table.
After Solskjaer arrived to coach the Red Devils, he tried again to include Haaland, but this time from Salzburg, but the club again did not favor the idea of paying 20 million euros for a young player like him.
The surprise is that Jude Bellingham was also on Solskjaer’s list, and indeed the player arrived at Carrington, United’s headquarters, and met with Sir Alex Ferguson and Eric Cantona.
Once again, United’s management was the reason for not including the current Real Madrid star, after it rejected his only request to participate directly with the first team and preferred that he start with the younger age groups.
Eventually, Haaland joined Dortmund for 20 million euros and was then sold for 65 million euros to Manchester City, and Bellingham also took the Dortmund route until he joined Real Madrid last summer for 100 million euros.
