Bellingham: I didn’t insult the referee.. and I’m sorry to my teammates

Jude Bellingham apologized to the Real Madrid players in full view of the media for the red card he received in the match against Osasuna on Saturday.

The English star’s expulsion was one of the reasons Real lost two valuable points after the eventual 1-1 draw at the El Sadar stadium.

Bellingham came out to the media after the match and said, “I didn’t say anything to the referee, it was very clear that there was a misunderstanding between us.”

He also added, “It’s a term like the Spanish term that means damnation, and the result was that we finished the match with ten men.”

He continued, “What I said was never an insult to the referee, it’s good that there is a video and that the truth is clear to everyone, what the referee wrote in his report has nothing to do with the truth, I hope the Spanish Federation takes this into consideration.”

He concluded, “I’m here now to apologize to the team for putting them in this predicament.”

Cadena Cope suggested that Bellingham would be suspended for two matches, while Real Madrid would work to prove that what the referee wrote about the player insulting him was incorrect, and accordingly, the expulsion and the resulting penalties would be canceled.
