Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham believes his team was lucky to only lose 3-0 to Arsenal, given Los Blancos’ performance at the Emirates Stadium.
Real Madrid now has to win at the Santiago Bernabéu by a three-goal margin to reach the Champions League semi-finals, and Bellingham still believes his team has a chance despite the difficulty.
In comments after Tuesday’s match, the England international said, “Arsenal could have won by a bigger score. In fact, we’re lucky to only concede three goals in a game like this.”
He added, “To be honest, there are no excuses for the way we played. We just have to look at ourselves.”
He continued, “We just have to look at ourselves. It’s the same as what’s happened to us all season, but against Arsenal, it was more of a bigger problem.”
He concluded his remarks about the second leg: “We need to deliver a fantastic performance at the Santiago Bernabéu. The task is difficult, but we believe in our chances, and on a magical night we were able to come back.”
