Karim Benzema rejected what Cristiano Ronaldo said about himself that he is “the best player in history”.
The Portuguese international had said in recent statements that he is the most complete in the history of football, and therefore he considers himself better than any other name.
When Benzema was asked about these words, he replied by saying “Everyone says what they want, if they consider themselves the best, that is their point of view”.
He also added “For me, for example, the Brazilian Ronaldo is the best in history”.
He concluded “I do not like comparisons, every player has his own story. As for Cristiano, he has his own story and it is very good”.
Benzema is currently competing with Ronaldo in the Saudi League, and there is a special struggle between them for the title of top scorer in the competition, as they are tied with 16 goals each so far.
The French star played alongside Ronaldo at Real Madrid from 2009 to 2018, and their relationship is very good, although it is expected to be affected by the 36-year-old’s words.
