Real Madrid legend and current Saudi Al-Ittihad star, Karim Benzema, believes that Vinicius Junior is the main problem facing Kylian Mbappe at the royal club.
Although Mbappe has scored 8 goals so far in all competitions with Real, he is subject to huge criticism and the majority believe that he has failed to reach even a little of his usual level with Paris Saint-Germain.
Benzema, who played alongside Mbappe in the French national team and has great knowledge of the situation within Real Madrid, analyzed his compatriot’s crisis with Los Blancos very clearly.
Benzema said, “For me, Mbappe is not an outright striker, he is a left winger, and the problem at Real Madrid is that there is the best left winger in the world, which is Vinicius.”
He also added, “You cannot put Vinicius in the striker position or on the right flank, he makes the difference in almost every match from the left flank more than any other player in the world.”
“Mbappé is not a striker, I understand that people ask him a lot and that there is a lot of pressure on him, Real Madrid is not Paris Saint-Germain,” he continued.
“Mbappé has to completely forget that he is a left winger and focus on being a striker now,” he continued.
“Mbappé knows that the pressure at Real Madrid is huge, if you don’t score in two or three games, they will kill you,” he concluded.
