Karim Benzema made statements that belittled the Saudi club Al-Ittihad, in response to his question about the decline in its level in the recent period.
Benzema is not experiencing his best condition this season with the “Dean”, and he even wanted to leave last January, but the club stuck with him despite all the crises.
Al-Ittihad tied 0-0 with Al-Taawoun on Friday, and after the match, Benzema came out and spoke in a way that caused an attack on him by Al-Ittihad fans.
When the Frenchman was asked why his level was different from his level at Real Madrid, he replied, “The matches are different and the players are different. I need my teammates to help me on the field.”
He also added, “I cannot bring victory to the team alone. I need the help of others and many things, really.”
He continued, “The situation is different. This is my first participation in the Saudi League. Now all I hope is to finish the season well and achieve victories for the team.”
As for his future, he said, “I cannot talk about this matter now. Every day there is news about my departure. What is important now is that I am here with Al-Ittihad and we will see what happens in the future.”
It is worth noting that Benzema participated this season with Al-Ittihad in 26 matches in all tournaments, during which he scored only 12 goals and assisted 8 others.
