CAF imposes historic fine on Zamalek due to African Super Cup incidents!

Egyptian media outlets reported shocking penalties imposed by the Confederation of African Football’s Disciplinary Committee against Zamalek due to the African Super Cup incidents.

Zamalek won the African Super Cup against Al-Ahly on penalties, but during the match, the White Knight threatened to withdraw after a controversial penalty kick was awarded.

According to media reports, CAF decided to fine Zamalek $300,000, while the prize for winning the entire Super Cup was $500,000!

In the same context, CAF decided to suspend Nasser Mansi for 3 matches due to the way he celebrated scoring a penalty kick in front of Al-Ahly fans, with a fine of $10,000.

Mahmoud Abdel Razek Shikabala was also suspended for 3 matches for going down to the pitch and signaling to Zamalek players to leave and speak to the fourth referee.

Zamalek’s management is expected to appeal the fine in particular, which is considered one of the largest penalties in the history of the African continent.
