Real Madrid has officially announced that Eduardo Camavinga is suffering from a sprained lateral collateral ligament in his knee, without specifying the duration of his absence from the field.
The French international was injured after a strong challenge from Aurélien Tchouaméni on his leg during the Merengues’ last training session in preparation for the European Super Cup match against Atalanta.
According to Spanish media, this injury will cause Camavinga to be sidelined for at least 6 to 7 weeks.
As a result, Carlo Ancelotti will lose his young player for a number of important matches, most notably against Atlético Madrid in La Liga, and he will also miss the first matches of the Champions League group stage.
The 21-year-old is expected to return to Real Madrid for the match against Villarreal in La Liga on October 6, or at worst on October 21 against Celta Vigo.
