Real Madrid star Dani Carvajal mocked a journalist’s question about whether he was one of the candidates to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or after the distinguished season he had with the Royal Club.
Carvajal played 41 matches with Real Madrid in all tournaments, during which he scored 6 goals and assisted 5 others, and led Carlo Ancelotti’s squad to win the La Liga and Champions League titles.
With his scoring the first goal for Real Madrid against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final at Wembley Stadium, some raised the idea that Carvajal would win the Golden Ball.
When a journalist asked Carvajal about this matter during his presence in the Spain national team’s camp in preparation for Euro 2024, he responded sarcastically and said, “No, no, this is a very big matter.”
He continued, laughing, “I can win it if I score 15 goals with the Spanish national team in the Euros!”
As for his current goal of various individual awards, he replied, “I want to be among the best FIFA squad. This is something I have never achieved before in my career.”
He concluded, “I also want to be the player who won the most titles with a Real Madrid shirt in history.”
It is noteworthy that Nacho and Luka Modric are the duo who won the most titles in a Real Madrid shirt, with 26 titles, while Carvajal only achieved 25 titles.
