Ceballos hits back at Simeone over referees’ compliments to Real Madrid!

Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos has responded strongly to Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone’s criticism of his recent comments about the royal club and the referees’ assistance to him.

Simeone had hinted that Real Madrid were receiving preferential treatment from the referees, following Los Blancos’ qualification to the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey at the expense of Celta Vigo.

Ceballos did not hesitate to embarrass Simeone, linking the Argentine coach’s comments to his two Champions League final defeats to Real Madrid.

The Spanish international said after Real Madrid’s victory over Las Palmas on Sunday and their takeover of the La Liga lead, “It seems that he cannot forget losing the Champions League twice to Real Madrid.”

He continued, speaking about the La Liga lead, “We knew yesterday’s results, that Barcelona and Atletico Madrid had lost points and we realized the importance of winning today, that after a few weeks we have a match against Atletico Madrid, we have to continue adding points.”

Real Madrid currently lead La Liga with 46 points, two ahead of Atletico Madrid after Los Rojiblancos lost 1-0 to Leganes on Saturday. Los Blancos’ lead over eternal rivals Barcelona has increased to seven points after the Catalans’ disappointing 1-1 draw with Getafe.
