City renews Haaland’s contract for a very long time.. and secures him against leaving soon!

The Athletic network reported that Manchester City succeeded in renewing Erling Haaland’s contract for a very long time, while securing him against the interest of major clubs in him in an ideal way.

The Norwegian star’s old contract kept him a City player until 2027, and included a penalty clause of 150 million euros that could be activated starting in the summer of 2025.

But the City management continued its steps to keep the first-team star, after convincing him to sign a new contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2034!

In addition to continuing for another 9 and a half years initially, City removed the release clause from Haaland’s contract until 2029.

Starting in 2029, that is, four years from now, Haaland can move to any new club for a release clause whose value has not been disclosed, but which has been described as “very large”.

At the same time, Haaland, 23, received a historic increase in his salary that will make him the highest-paid player in the Premier League without dispute.

Haaland’s old salary was around 500 thousand pounds per week, and the new salary is said to reach 600 thousand pounds per week, making him one of the highest-paid in the history of the English championship in general.

It is noteworthy that Haaland moved to Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund for 60 million euros in the summer of 2022, and since then he has played 126 matches in the blue shirt in all competitions, during which he scored 111 goals and made 15 others.
