International media agreed that Real Madrid had sent an official offer to Liverpool to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold in the current winter transfer period.
Arnold’s contract with the Reds expires at the end of the current season, so Real saw it as an opportunity to support the right-back position immediately and for a sum that would not be large.
According to the newspaper “AS”, Real Madrid sent an offer worth 15 million pounds to Liverpool to sell Arnold in the current Mercato.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Liverpool’s management refused to even consider the offer, and does not want Arnold to leave in any way this winter in light of the team’s competition for all tournaments.
Spanish newspapers did not rule out that Real Madrid would contact Liverpool again in the coming days and submit an improved offer that could reach 25 million pounds to sign Arnold.
In general, Real’s plan is clear, which is to sign the English star in the summer for free if Liverpool’s management continues to refuse to sell the player in the winter.
So far, Arnold and his agent have not informed Liverpool’s management of his departure at the end of the season, which makes the English management optimistic, especially since they intend to intensify renewal negotiations with the player in the coming weeks.
It remains to be noted that Real Madrid has entered into negotiations with Arnold since last March, and sources agree that the chances of the 25-year-old moving to the Merengue are much greater than renewing his contract with Liverpool.
