Contradictory news has been reported in the past hours about Cristiano Ronaldo’s response to an offer made to him by Al-Nassr’s management to renew his contract.
The Portuguese international’s contract with the Saudi club expires at the end of the current season, and Al-Nassr seeks to keep him for at least another year.
According to SSC, the Al-Nassr management has already presented Ronaldo with a renewal offer last month.
According to some sources, Ronaldo, 39, has not yet responded to the offer, and has asked for more time to evaluate his position and whether he can continue for another year in football or retire.
However, other sources said that Ronaldo informed Al-Nassr’s management of his acceptance of the offer before the Al-Rayyan match last week in the AFC Champions League, and that it is a matter of days before the two parties will sign.
Ronaldo currently aims to continue on the field for another year in order to maintain his readiness and participate in the 2026 World Cup with the Portuguese national team, after which he may retire from football permanently.
“Don” joined Al-Nassr in the winter of 2023, and since then he has played 75 matches, during which he scored 67 goals and made 18 others, but he has not succeeded in achieving any championship with Al-Alamy so far.
