The first half of the Al-Ahly and Zamalek match in the African Super Cup was very calm until the 36th minute.
Akram Tawfik approached Zamalek’s goal and shot a weak ball from inside the area, which Mohamed Awad saved and the match continued.
But suddenly, the referee stopped the match to review the video technology regarding a possible penalty kick.
After returning to the technology, the referee returned and discovered that there was friction from Hamza Al-Mathlouthi after Akram Tawfik shot the ball, so he decided that it was a penalty kick.
The stadium immediately exploded and Zamalek players did not stop objecting to one of the most controversial decisions this season.
Zamalek players left the stadium as if they had withdrawn, then returned again a few minutes later and Wissam Abu Ali shot the penalty kick in the middle of the goal and gave Al-Ahly the first goal in the 43rd minute.
We leave you with the very controversial shot.
