The draw for the quarter-finals of the 2025 Spanish King’s Cup was held on Monday evening, and resulted in a difficult task awaiting Barcelona, and another within reach for Real Madrid.
Barça had easily passed Real Betis in the round of 16 after defeating them 5-1, while Real suffered after drawing with Celta Vigo 2-2 in regular time, before winning 5-2 in extra time.
The round of 16 witnessed a major surprise when the defending champion Athletic Bilbao was eliminated by Osasuna, making it certain that the 2025 King’s Cup will witness a new champion.

Barcelona maintains its position as the club that has won the cup the most times in 30 previous occasions, while Real Madrid has won it 20 times, and Bilbao is the second most crowned with 24 titles.

The draw resulted in a difficult match for Barcelona, as they will travel to the Mestalla stadium to face Valencia.
Although the Bats are not experiencing their best season, the trip to Mestalla is always difficult for both Real Madrid and Barcelona.
On the other hand, the Royal Club will meet Leganes at the Butarque stadium, a match that theoretically seems within reach, but in practice it is not expected to be an easy task.
