Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has announced his intention to return to participate with the Belgian national team again in the coming period.
Since the start of the Austria match in the Euro 2024 qualifiers in June 2023, Courtois has been away from the Belgian national team due to disagreements with former coach Domenico Tedesco.
In a press interview, Courtois confirmed that he is eager to participate with the Belgian national team again, and that he is ready to wear his country’s shirt again after an absence of nearly two years.
Frenchman Rudi Garcia took over the coaching of Belgium after Tedesco two months ago, and his first test will be next March against Ukraine in the first and second legs of the European Nations League.
If things go as expected, Courtois, 32, will be the one to protect the goal of Belgium in both matches.
The Real Madrid goalkeeper has a lot of experience at the international level, having played 102 matches with Belgium, and also participated in the 2014, 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
