Courtois echoes Carvajal’s words after Clasico loss

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has affirmed that losing to Barcelona is always bitter, no matter the circumstances, but what matters most is winning official matches.

Barcelona defeated their eternal rivals 2-1 in a friendly match in the United States, with Courtois playing the full 90 minutes.

Speaking to the media after the Clasico, the Belgian goalkeeper said, “It’s clear that we don’t like losing to Barcelona.”

He added, “But what matters is winning the official matches during the season.”

He concluded, “Just like Carvajal said last year, when the decisive moment comes, we’ll see what happens.”

Last year, Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3-0 in a friendly, and Carvajal made his famous comments after which Real Madrid won three official matches against the Blaugrana in La Liga and the Super Cup.
