Journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Sporting Lisbon is on the verge of finalizing a deal for Barcelona player Vitor Roque.
The Brazilian player is out of coach Hansi Flick’s plans, and Barcelona is looking for a way out that guarantees it won’t suffer a financial loss after paying 30 million euros to sign him last January.
According to the latest news, the talks are in the final stages between Sporting Lisbon and Barcelona for a deal that will exceed 30 million euros with add-ons.
It is expected that the Portuguese club will pay 20 million euros as a fixed fee to buy Roque, in addition to another 20 million as variables based on the player’s individual performance and the team’s achievements in Lisbon.
Roque has already expressed his approval of Sporting’s offer, while Porto has dropped out of the race despite looking for another striker to replace Ivanilson.
The 19-year-old had rejected a move to the Saudi League despite a large offer from Al-Hilal, as he wanted to continue in Europe.
Overall, Roque received inquiries from Bournemouth and Everton but prefers the Lisbon offer, which will allow Barcelona to register a replacement player before the start of the new season.
