Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo admitted that he is on the verge of retiring from football, and therefore he wants to enjoy his remaining period on the football fields.
The Portuguese star is 39 years old and his contract with Al-Nassr is still extended until the summer of 2025, with negotiations between the two parties to extend the contract for another year.
Speaking to UEFA’s official website, Ronaldo said, “I don’t have many years left in football, so I have to enjoy it now.”
He also added, “I love football. Every match has exceptional value for me. My participation in the Euro with Portugal makes me proud.”
He concluded, “Playing in the Euros remains a dream of mine, even if I played a lot in the tournament before. It feels the same as if I was twenty years old.”
Ronaldo is the player who has participated most in the European Nations Cup in history, as his participation in Euro 2024 will be his sixth throughout his career.
Ronaldo’s first participation was in 2004, when he lost the final match with Portugal to Greece, but he succeeded in winning the title in the 2016 edition in France.
It should be noted that Ronaldo is the all-time top scorer in the Euro competition, having scored 14 goals in 5 previous editions.
