Cristiano Ronaldo believes that he is the best player in the history of football, and explained that by saying that he is “the most complete” and has not seen anyone better than him.
The Don conducted an extensive press interview with the El Chiringuito program, in which he talked about many things, most notably his relationship with Real Madrid and the Golden Ball and others.
Ronaldo: I am the best in history
The 39-year-old said, “I am the best player in history, I am the most complete ever, and I have not seen anyone better than me.”
He also added, “The numbers are there and they speak, I am the greatest scorer in history, and although I am not left-footed, I am among the top 10 in history who scored with my left foot, I can play with my left foot and my head, I shoot free kicks well, I have speed and strength and I jump well.”
As for his desire to reach goal number 1000 or achieve the Golden Ball, he replied, “I hope to achieve it, but I am not obsessed with the idea.”
In this regard, he concluded, “People focus a lot on this matter, I know it’s my fault, but people don’t appreciate my current level, I don’t like this.”
Ronaldo on his relationship with Messi
Ronaldo confirmed that his relationship with Messi is very good to the point that he worked as a translator for him at one of the Golden Ball ceremonies.
The Portuguese continued, “My relationship with Messi is very good, I worked as a translator for him at one of the awards ceremonies, and that was nice.”
He added, “He has always treated me well, I hope we can see our numbers repeated again, but I see it as very difficult.”
Regarding comparing the American League to the Saudi League, he said, “The Saudi League is stronger, those who talk don’t know what they are talking about, but only those who play know that.”
Ronaldo reveals why he left Real Madrid
When asked about the reason for his departure from Real Madrid, he replied, “I felt that my time there was over, and I wanted a new motivation.”
“Florentino Perez accepted the idea of my departure, and he did not treat me well during the renewal negotiations, after that he wanted me to go back on my decision, but I was not able to do that.”
He continued, “My relationship with Perez is good, I appreciate and respect him a lot and we talk from time to time, I do not rule out returning to Real Madrid after retiring.”
He concluded, “Madrid will always be in my heart, my children grew up there, I have friends and I played there, it is the place where I was happiest, my son Mateo is a big Real Madrid fan, it bothers me when he says that Mbappé is better than me.”
Ronaldo: The Ballon d’Or is unfair
Ronaldo once again repeated his angry talk about the Ballon d’Or, and considered that Vinicius Junior was more deserving of winning it.
The Don said about that, “This award has no credibility.”
He added, “Vinicius should have won the Ballon d’Or, I have felt this feeling several times and I have always been angry, but with time I understood it, these are battles that you cannot win.”
