Former Manchester United star Louis Saha believes that Cristiano Ronaldo will soon return to Manchester United, but in a new role different from his previous two stints.
Ronaldo played for United from 2004 to 2009 and then returned to the Red Devils in a less successful spell between 2021 and 2023.
Ronaldo suffered from many disagreements with manager Erik ten Hag in his second spell with Manchester United, leading to the termination of the player’s contract and his subsequent free transfer to Al-Nassr.
Commenting on this, Saha said: “His second spell didn’t end as everyone hoped, but we know the reason for his frustration at the time. Nevertheless, he maintained his great passion.”
He added, “Ronaldo has the passion and dedication, and he certainly hopes to return to Manchester United one day.”
He concluded, “Maybe it will happen in the future, I wouldn’t rule out seeing him as a coach or sporting director for United.”
It is worth mentioning that Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nassr ends in the summer of 2025, and it is expected that the player will retire from football after playing in the 2026 World Cup.
