Valencia’s management made a number of decisive decisions days before facing Real Madrid in the postponed match of the 12th round of the Spanish League.
It started on Thursday with the failure of the board of directors to hold the annual shareholders’ meeting after the fans began chanting against the owner Peter Lim and attacking the president Lee Hoon Chan by calling her a liar, and the meeting was adjourned after only 10 minutes.
After that, Lee Hoon Chan announced that the owner Peter Lim was ready to sell his share if he received a good offer, in a precedent that is the first since he arrived at Mestalla in 2014.
The revolutionary decisions continued in the hope of saving Valencia from drowning, as the Bats’ management decided to dismiss coach Ruben Braja due to the decline in results.
Valencia is in the penultimate place in the La Liga standings, and has failed to win its last 5 matches, and for the first time in decades it seems very close to relegation.
The identity of the new coach has not been announced, but according to Spanish newspapers, Valencia is working on contracting the experienced coach Quique Flores to return after 18 years since his first experience at Mestalla between 2005 and 2007.
Valencia will meet Real Madrid on January 3 at Mestalla, in a very important match for the royal club to continue chasing Atletico at the top of La Liga and to move further away from rival Barcelona, who is in third place.
